WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR A CHURCH TO BE RELEVANT?

THIS?

OR THIS?

"When you are no longer able to help the needy, are you still a church?"

I heard this quote last week listening to a sermon from Mars Hill Church in Grandville, Michigan. One of the pastors, Don Golden, quoted an African pastor that he had met while working with a relief agency. He asked the the pastor how he felt in trying to minister to a community in famine conditions with resources almost completely depleted. Above was his response.

John sent messengers to Jesus asking him if he was the Christ or should they look for another. He answered the disciples by pointing out the deeds they had observed, i.e. the blind seeing, the lame walking, lepers cleansed, deaf hearing, dead raised up, and the poor having the good news preached to them.
How would we answer the question, "Are you the body of Christ are shall we look for another?"
